This year in room 27 we are fortunate to have been selected to participate in the Second Cohort of technology classrooms. Students of my 2008-2009 class will be joining me in the use of various technology medias.
The technology includes a SMARTboard, a tabletPC, a digital camera and a document camera (also known as an E.L.M.O.) I am truly looking forward to adapting this new technology and learning how it will benefit and undoubtedly enhance everyone's education experience.
As I entered the classroom a few days ago, I was immediately drawn to the SMARTboard and began to work with it right away. I truly hope and believe that this will be a student-centered addition and I am constantly thinking of ways to allow each students to work with the board.
I feel confident each student will become familiar and gain competency using these technological features in our room.
I am very interested in everyone's thoughts. How do students feel about being part of a technology classroom? How will this improve/impact student learning? How can this technology meet students' needs?
I have been mulling these questions over and I hope to learn from the uses of this technology in the following school year. It will be a learning experience for everyone; myself included!
